POST: A SUBJECT THAT I ENJOY The course that I have enjoyed the most as a student is one that I took in the third semester. It's called "Colonial Art" and despite being online due to the health crisis and the pandemic, I really enjoyed it. The course dealt with the art developed during the periods after the Spanish conquest, mainly in Mexico, Peru and Bolivia, and how visual conflicts were presented throughout the period. In this way, indigenous traditions were mixed with Spanish ones, resulting in a very interesting set. I like the theme because it allows us to have more than one look at colonial art and our past.

POST:  HOW CAN YOUR MAJOR MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE  Art history is a little known discipline, because it is not commonly taught in schools or universities as a compulsory subject. Despite this, if we understand the history of art as the history of images, we realize that we are in contact with this discipline much more than we think and therefore, it can also influence the world in some way. One of the ways that I believe that the history of art would benefit the world is the greater democratization of knowledge and access to this area that is related to almost all areas of the humanities. Either, with the formation of free tickets to museums or exhibitions, access to books or catalogs, art exhibitions open to the community. In this way it is possible to create citizens aware of the cultural work of their own countries and awaken various interests, in addition to developing artistic areas that are not normally explored. The history of art, or the stories of images, ...
POST 6: WEBSITE  This time I will talk about an Instagram page related to the world of the arts, called "Separate Museum" destined to rescue little-known works (mostly contemporary) but with great iconographic value. https://instagram.com/museoaparte/ I like the page because despite having few followers, because the year 2020 was created, it has constant updates and every day it uploads new posts. I always find something new that I have not seen! I visit the site at least once a week to see if I have missed something, so I can learn a little more about works that I have not seen in college. It was created by a Chilean illustrator named Fernanda Perez as an entertainment to publicize her favorite works This site is dedicated to anyone who wants to know a little more about the history of art, not just to people who study something related to it, because in the curatorship it provides information on the historical period and artistic styles.

POST 5: A PHOTO AND ITS STORY Photography is something that interests me a lot, I collect both digital and physical memories of my friends, family, pets or even food or flowers that I find in the street. I think it is a good way to capture moments and with them to remember them someday when going through the albums again.  I chose this photograph because of the work of Alfredo Jaar, a Chilean artist who is inspired by it to create his work. The authorship is by Kevin Carter, winner of the Pulizter award thanks to this photograph, capturing a vulture waiting for the death of a girl in Sudan 1993. It caused such a stir due to the lack of solidarity attributed to Carter that he ended up committing suicide some time later.

POST 4: MY FAVORITE FOOD  Today I will be writing about something that everyone loves: food. My favorite food is Italian food, specifically gnocchi. Gnocchis are a preparation made with cooked potatoes, eggs and flour, which although it was not created in Italy, but by immigrants living in Argentina due to its low cost. It is my favorite food because it is very easy to make, only the ingredients are put together until they make doughs and then shape them with a fork. I try not to eat as often as they are high in calories but I still really enjoy cooking them. We usually cook them with my whole family because I think they are better homemade, although sometimes when I have an appetite I ask a restaurant or supermarket. They can be served with bolognese sauce or with pesto. Which one do you prefer?

POST 3: My favorite piece of technology

Although in this day and age it is difficult to have a bad relationship with technology because it accompanies us every day, even more so in pandemic and the use of virtual classes. Today I want to talk about my Kindle a tool that is new to me and that I acquired just for the use of screens to read in college. The Kindle is a digital reader that its function is only to contain all kinds of books, magazines, articles and even comics or comic strips, the advantage is its little damage to vision because the used is extremely low but allows you to read with great ease.  I recommend it because it also has tools such as size and font type regulator, spacing and style, which makes it adaptable to everyone.

POST 2: WHY DID I CHOOSE MY MAJOR Well ... Today I will tell you why I chose my career to study. During my childhood I always liked everything related to artistic expression and my parents encouraged me a lot to this, taking workshops and attending various activities. In the same way, I really liked reading and researching any type of thing, inclining me to develop my taste for the history. My dream job as a child was to be a playwright for a play. After high school I started studying Theater Acting but unfortunately it was a bad experience so I decided to switch to my current career: Theory and history of art and although at the beginning I was not convinced nor did I totally like it, today I can say that I am happy with it. What made me decide was the fascination for art and history that I loved since that I was child. Despite the virtual modality, the experience at the University has been totally comforting, adding many experiences .
